Brewed exclusively for us here at the toad by custom brewcrafters in commemoration of our 20th anniversary, ot 20 features citra hops, a fairly new, high alpha-acid (10-12%) variety designed in 2008 that is known for releasing particularly fruity aromas. This certainly is one for the hop-heads! 8.3% ABV.

Fullers London Pride

A fantastic english pale ale that is imported to us here at the old toad. The uk's number one selling premium ale, london pride is a smooth and astonishingly complex beer with a distinctive malty base complemented by a rich balance of well-developed hop flavors from the target, challenger and northdown varieties. A sure fire favourite here at the old toad! 4.7% ABV.

Guinness - Stout

The original stout was initially made by accident as the barley was burnt. Black body, creamy white head. Displays a smooth pleasant dryness. Full of iron, light-bodied and low in calories. 4.1% ABV.

Cider

Golden coloured. Sweet apples in the aroma and in the flavour. Sweet, crisp, and refreshing.

Cream Flow

Cream flow is a type of dispensation. The beer is pushed from the keg using primarily nitrogen. This gives a thick creamy head that some drinkers value. Popular choices include: young's double chocolate stout, old speckled hen, boddingtons, and belhaven.

Possibly​ the best belgian style beer produced in the us. Very translucent appearance. Meady alcohol vapors. Very complex. Malty flavor without being cloyingly sweet. St Bernadus Abt 12

Dark brown. Alcohol is not subtle. It really provide a pleasant warming effect without coming across as harsh. Suits well with a tangy cheese such as gruyere. 10% ABV. Belgium / st. bernadus / 11.2 oz

Bluebird Bitter

Broadside

Dark, deep, amber red color. Rich heady aroma with strong honey undertones. Malty yet crisp flavors that don't try and hide the slightly higher strength of this brew. 6.2% ABV. England / adnams / 11 oz

Brown Ale

Samm​ smith nutbrown - rusty brown color with a fluffy white head. A very well balanced nutbrown. Treacle flavors from the roasted malt work well with the moderate amounts of hops. Lots of nut suggestion - of course. Medium bodied. 5% ABV. England / samuel smith / 12 oz

Newcastle Brown

A beer for northern english blokes. Pale brown color. Lots of nutty character. Medium bodied. Plenty of malt presence in the finish. 4.7% ABV. England / scottish and newcastle / 12 oz /

Theakston's Old Peculiar

Brewing since 1827 in masham, yorkshire. Dark reddish brown. Delicate english hops on the nose. Taste - full bodied malty ale with just enough hops to balance. Fairly dry finish. Overall rather nice and great value. 5.7% ABV. England / theakston's / 12 oz

Hobgoblin

Appearance of cola (except for the frothy white head). Medium bodied and reasonably sweet. The sweetness coupled with only light carbonation make for an incredibly smooth mouthfeel. 5.5% ABV. England / wychwood / 12 oz

Celebrator

A german classic. Dark ruby body. Appealing salty sweet aroma. Malt dominates throughout. Dries out slightly in the finish. Medium to full body. 7.2% ABV. Germany / ayinger / 11.2 oz /

Optimator

Brewed since 1397. dark amber appearance. Caramel roasted flavors. Bitter burnt taste is noticable but offset with plenty of sweetness. Smooth mouthfeel with a clean finish. 7.2% ABV. Germany / spaten - franziskaner / 12 oz

Ur-Weisse

Naturally cloudy wheat beer. Much darker than hefe-weizens. Roasted malt flavor with hints of lemon and orange. Noticeable alcohol presence. Strong warming beer. 5.8% ABV. Germany / ayinger / 16.6 oz

Kulmbacher Eisbock

Eisbocks are created by freezing off a portion of the water, and removing it from the beer. This concentrates the beer's body, flavor, and alcohol content. This example is a deep brown with an lots of body and upfront sweetness. Suprising mellow in the mouth. Great in the colder months. 9.2% ABV. Germany / kulmbacher / 12 oz

Melbourne Brothers Cherry

Spontaneously fermented. Christmas red color. Cherry aroma oozes from the glass. A lot of initial sweetness comes through with the strong cherry flavor. The finish is satisfyingly tart. 3.4% ABV. England / melbourne brothers / 12 oz

Quelque Chose (Kel-Ke-Show)

A​ strong ale that is steeped for 6 months in cherries. This provides a wonderful fresh fruit flavor. The beer can be served warm. Ask your server if this is your preference. 8% ABV. Canada / unibroue / 16 oz

Hard Cider

K - strong medium sweet cider made with somerset apples. Rich orange color. A lot of nut character. This is especially evident when mixed in snakebites. 6.9% ABV. England / matthew clark / 9.3 oz

Brau Weisse

Authentic bavarian hefe-weizen. Unfiltered wheat beer. Soft mouth feel. Hints of banana and clove. Not overpowering like some examples can be. Some like a lemon with this type of beer (we don't think it needs it). 5.1% ABV. Germany / ayinger / 16.6 oz

Pinkus Hefe-Weizen

Black Chocolate Stout (Winter 07-08)

Thick brown head. Very dark body although if you hold it to the light there is a ruby to be found. Heady aroma of bitter chocolate and alcohol. Heavy, syrupy body. Dry burnt flavors explode in the mouth. 8.4% ABV. USA / brooklyn / 12 oz

Sam Smith Imperial Stout

Thick brown head sit on top of the jet black body. Heavy feel in the mouth. Strong alcohol and fresh apple aroma. Lots of smokey burnt malt flavor. Clinging dry finish. 7% ABV. England / samuel smith / 12 oz

Hop Rod Rye

Aged oak color. Definate spicy rye aroma. Good steady head. Dry mouthfeel. Hops. Huge malt presence that is overwhelmed by the amount of hops. This crazy tasting beer lingers in the mouth for some time. 8% ABV. USA / bear republic / 22 oz

Racer 5 I.P.A.

Pours with a slight haze. Seems normal with this brewery. Provides a nosebag full of hops. Sharp carbonation. Full bodied. Plenty of malt that finds itsely dominated by the hops in there. A quinessential american craft ale. Did i mention it was hoppy? 7% ABV. USA / bear republic / 22 oz

India Ale

Young copper color. Historic british style. Fluffy white head. Very clean, hoppy aroma. Immediate bitterness with hints of orange zest and apricot. Malt balance comes through very late in the finish. Satisfying thirst quencher. 5% ABV. England / samuel smith / 12 oz

Red Stripe

Cantillon Rose De Gambrinus

"The most famous framboise" according to beer writer michael jackson. This is not like the sweetened lambic from lindemans. Very dry, tart and acidic. Similar characteristics to a fruity champagne. Fermented by wild yeasts found in the local air in ancient oak casks with whole fresh raspberries. As far as lambic beers are concerned it doesn't get anymore authentic than this. 5% ABV. Framboise

Fermented using wild yeast found in the air. This takes up to two years. Plenty of fruit makes for a sweet start. This is balanced by acidic tartness. It is a great thirst quencher in the summer months. 2.5% ABV. Belgium / lindemans / 12 oz

Gueuze (Gur-Zur)

Lambic without fruit. Tart aroma that is countered by the sweet taste. Similar to the bolder cuvee rene but with the addition of sugar for a much sweeter result. A good beginner gueuze or simply an enjoyable drink for anyone with a sweet tooth. 4% ABV. Belgium / lindemans / 12 oz

Cuvee Rene Gueuze (Gur-Zur)
